# Notes on AI features

## OnlyMCP brings no AI of its own

This is a deliberate decision, not a temporary state: OnlyMCP holds **no**
language models and **no** access tokens for AI providers. There is no
subscription in which OnlyMCP supplies AI.

## What OnlyMCP actually does

OnlyMCP stores and serves context: your skills, agent definitions and
structured memory. Your own MCP client fetches that context, for example
Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI. **Your AI client is the driver, OnlyMCP is
the shelf.**

## What this means for your data

What you sync into OnlyMCP is transmitted, on every fetch, to whichever AI
provider your particular client uses. Which provider that is, what it does
with the data, and how long it keeps it, is outside OnlyMCP: OnlyMCP has
neither visibility into nor influence over that data flow. You are
responsible for that data flow and for that provider's terms.

## What does not belong in your content

Do not put secrets into skills, agent definitions or memory files: no
passwords, no API keys, no access tokens. Also do not put personal data of
third parties there unless you are authorised to share it. Anything written
in these files can be sent to an AI provider on every fetch.

## Your responsibility

The content of your skills, agent definitions and memory files is your
responsibility, as is the choice of your AI client and provider. OnlyMCP does
not review this content and cannot prevent a client you chose from misusing
or mishandling it.

## Limits of the output

Output from your AI client can be wrong, incomplete or invented. This applies
even when it is based on skills, agent definitions or memory content synced
through OnlyMCP. Check it before you rely on it, in particular before it
leads to actions affecting third parties.
